As the third week of June began, Robin and I started a journey that promised to be a long but fruitful road. From Guatemala our first stop was Sacramento. My parents, younger sister and brother live there. We were also joined by our daughter, son-in-law, and 3 year old grand daughter. We enjoyed some family activities, celebrating Independence Day together. The most precious times were spent getting to know (again) our grand Lylah.

As missionaries in Guatemala for the last 7 years, you could say there have been some sacrifices, these we accept without regret. The heaviest of all though, is not being able to spend time with your grandchild. So we tried to make the best of the time available. Backyard/pool time, visiting parks, and even a road trip to San Francisco. We also found time to connect with the Pastors of a neighborhood church, sharing the mission of Mercy Wings International, and referral to a church we will visit this August when we are traveling in Arizona.
A few weeks later we made our way to southern California for a visit with Robin’s family. Our grand Lylah, again was the center of attention, meeting for the first time, a multitude of cousins. All too soon our daughter, son-in-law, and grand daughter returned to their home in Corpus Christi.
