When asked, what’s it is like to be a missionary, 1Corinthians 9:22 comes to mind. As a missionary, being all things to all men, can also mean taking on unexpected roles.
On this day I was invited to say a few words at a gathering of city and Government officials. The Quetzaltenango Chamber of Commerce (Mesa Economico) was hosting a city wide meeting with special guests from the Aviation directorate from the La Capital, Guatemala City.
I shared about the Aviation mission/ministry of Mercy Wings International, (the aviation department of Living Water Teaching). How aircraft is an effective tool to speed the Gosple of Jesus Christ throughout Guatemala and Latin America.
I also took the opportunity to present the Director General of the Aeronautica Civil (Guatemala FAA), with a copy of the IFR approach and departure procedures for Quetzaltenango (MGQZ). This procedure, once accepted, will enable safer entry and exit to our mountain valley for aircraft when weather conditions are less ideal conditions.
As a missionary pilot in Guatemala, I strive to be an example of Jesus Christ by word, deed, and action. Yet, there are “those” days……….but that’s another story.
