An overextended reach while working in the hangar went almost unnoticed except for a slight tingle in my lower back. I shrugged it off and kept working. The next morning the tingle had become a white-hot pain so piercing that I canceled my days activities in favor of an ice pack and heating pad. Lying flat on my back or sitting bolt upright were the only positions that offered any relief. Standing or walking were out of the question. Movement between point A and point B was so painful that leaving either for the other took great determination, if not dread. Understandably, once in a place of comfort, I was hesitant to move. It caused me to compare our points of comfort vs commitment. Entering missionary life can be a lot like my recent predicament, filled with both determination and dread all at the same time. If you have been considering making a move from point A (comfort) to point B (commitment), it can be helpful to open a dialogue with career missionaries that are seasoned and serving in God’s fields. SGSP Aviation Ministries is available to explore the possibilities with you by offering real answers to real questions. If using your aviation skills on the mission field appeals to you, or you are looking for good ground to sow into missions, contact admin@sgsp-aviation.org and let’s talk.
