Here at SGSP Aviation Ministries, at our base in the western highlands of Guatemala, we wear a variety of hats daily. Wearing my aircraft mechanic hat, I may be facing a single task or several separate tasks. Actually doing the work is the easy part, it’s the preparation and the finalization phases that demands discipline and time. Reviewing a work order, gathering equipment, prepares you for the actual work. Once the work is completed, test the system, return equipment, do the paperwork. The same process, by the numbers, is repeated again and again for each task. You may ask why not work on several tasks at the same time? The answer is simple, it’s to avoid confusion. It would be like leaving your home for a well deserved vacation, then an hour later wondering if the garage door was left open.
In life charging headlong out of the gate, and jumping in with both feet is the easy part. However, so much more can be accomplished with confidence, by allowing yourself time for preparation and finalization. Prepare yourself by putting on the whole armor of God as in Ephesians 6:11-18, then finalize the day with a simple devotional time, thanking God for your part in His great plan.
