Four days earlier Robin sits in the oppressive heat, and swarming bees, of Tecun Uman, a border town located at a remote and congested crossing into Mexico. There she works, taking vital signs for a medical outreach that treated 2300 people in need.
The last few days she has been helping her missionary pilot husband take an airplane apart to facilitate required inspections. In the evenings, Robin sews curtains for a missionary couple that are just getting situated in the country.
It is early Saturday morning in Quetzaltenango Guatemala. The sun is just beginning to burn through the grey layer of clouds that blanket the jagged mountain spires and volcano that stand guard around our narrow valley.
It has been a long week, with many ministry projects overlapping. As the coffee brews, the inviting aroma begins to creep around corners and up stairs, eventually filling our house. Robin sits at her computer, doing which of the following:
- Telemarketing retail products to global customers.
- Language training, using an interactive Spanish program.
- Making strategic stock trades over the internet.
1Cor 9:22, …………….I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
Next, Robin prepares donated sewing machines for classes next year……but that’s another story.
